IPU to accept NEET scores for medical courses

IPU to accept NEET scores for medical courses
Aspirants planning to apply for MBBS, BDS and PG medical courses at Delhi’s Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will now be selected on the basis of a national entrance test.

The Delhi government has decided - following a request by the Central government’s
ministry of health - that MBBS, BDS and PG medical applicants would be filtered in through the new National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

So, those vying for seats in Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, RML Hospital; and the ESIC Dental College and Hospital now need give the university their NEET scores along with the NEET registration number.
On May 5, 2013 (on May 18 in Karnataka due to state elections), the Central Board of Secondary Education is going hold the first NEET-undergraduate for MBBS and BDS seats in all medical and dental colleges countrywide approved by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India, respectively. NEET-PG 2013 has already been conducted by the National Board of Examinations in 2012.
The university, however, will continue to take on candidates for the BHMS and superspeciality programmes through its own entrance test.
