All eyes on apex court's NEET orderAHMEDABAD: All eyes, of students as well the authorities of Gujarat University (GU), are on the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) order on postgraduate medical admissions, which is expected to be delivered by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
GU had recently announced to conduct an entrance exam for admissions to postgraduate courses on April 28. However, students had protested against this exam, as they had already appeared for the NEET exam which is conducted by central agencies.
Since the students made a representation to the health department, which is in charge of medical education, Gujarat University (GU) had not collected fees for the exam.
"We are waiting for the final order on NEET for PG admissions. We had announced the local state exam to ensure that the students do not suffer if court proceedings are prolonged and the order is delayed. Now we are waiting for final order on NEET, which is expected on Tuesday. This will enable us to take a final decision in the best interest of students," said pro vice chancellor Dr Mukul Shah.
